About
Trust and safety
How we check that answers come from people, how we keep questions safe and private, and who you can hold to account. We tell you what runs today and what is still planned.

Four things we hold to
Verified people
Every answer comes from a verified person: invited, on a passkey, and checked while they answer.
Their own words
No AI tools, chatbots or automation to answer. Real opinions only.
Fair, visible pay
Askers see the price first. Members see the pay before they answer.
Questions stay confidential
Only the people answering see your question. No public feed.
Who runs PennyForYours
PennyForYours is run in the UK by David Bryan, as a sole trader while the business is being set up. No company has been formed yet, so there is no company number or registered address to publish. David Bryan is the controller of personal data and the person responsible for safety. During early access he reviews every question and image before members see it, and every answer held for checking.
Every answer from a verified person
No single check can prove someone is human, so we layer them and tell you which ran.
Running today
- Invitation only. Members join with a single-use invitation during early access.
- Checks when joining. A hidden field refuses scripted sign-ups, and how long the form took and signs of automation software are kept with the account for a person to look at.
- A passkey on every account. Sign-in uses a key on the member’s own device, unlocked by fingerprint, face or PIN. Nothing to phish, no password to leak, and we never see the fingerprint or face.
- Checks while answering. Paste is blocked. Our server times each answer on its own clock against a minimum, and we record timing and typing-rhythm summaries, never what was typed. Signs of automation software, more answers than a person could give, wording typical of chatbots and near-copies of other members’ answers are all looked for. Anything that looks pasted, automated or copied is held for a person.
- Known-answer questions. Questions with a known answer are mixed in, more often for new members, to measure attention.
- A person decides. Software can hold an answer, but only a person can reject it or remove an account, with a reason and a route to appeal.
- Receipts. Every answer carries a signed receipt listing the checks it actually passed.
Coming before paid answering
- PlannedIdentity and liveness checks with a certified provider before any member is paid.
- PlannedRandom live re-checks during answering.
- PlannedAnalysis across accounts to find duplicate accounts.
What we don’t claim. We don’t claim no automated answer can ever get through. We make faking slow and risky, catch it quickly and are open about which checks passed. The checks in technical detail.
The rule on AI-written answers
Answers must be your own. Using AI tools, chatbots or automation to write or submit answers is not allowed. Accounts found doing so, now or later, are removed after a human review, and you can appeal.
Answers that break the rule aren’t paid; genuine answers always are.
What can and can’t be asked
- A person reviews every question and image before members see it during early access.
- Not allowed: requests for personal data, questions targeting a real person, reviews or testimonials, regulated advice, and anything sexual, violent, hateful or unlawful.
- Terrorism content, child sexual abuse material and intimate images shared without consent are banned. We remove an intimate image reported as shared without consent within 48 hours, remove other illegal content as soon as we’re aware of it, and report child sexual abuse material to the National Crime Agency.
- Everyone on PennyForYours is 18 or over.
- Members are told when a question came through an AI tool.
Fair to the people answering
- Members choose the questions they answer and, once paid questions open, set their own minimum price per answer. Every question shows what it pays before anyone chooses it.
- Skipping never counts against anyone.
- Standing rewards accuracy and usefulness, never agreeing with the majority.
- Automated signals never remove an account or withhold pay on their own. A person decides and explains.
- Appeals get a reply from a person within 5 working days.
- Earnings from genuine answers are always paid, even if an account is closed.
How we protect data
- Where it lives. Our database and server code run in London. Uploaded images are stored by our host, Netlify, in the US (Ohio) under the UK’s data bridge with the US.
- Sign-in. Passkeys only, so there are no passwords to steal.
- Askers never see members’ names or emails. Each asker sees a different pseudonym.
- No adverts or selling data. Optional analytics cookies run on public information pages only after you accept them. We don’t train AI models on your data, and no outside AI provider receives it.
- Admin access needs a passkey, is confirmed again before every decision, and every view or decision goes into a log that can’t be edited.
- Hidden image metadata (location, camera details) is stripped before storage.

Trust questions
How are people verified?
During early access, members join by invitation and sign in with a passkey on their own device. A person approves every question and image before anyone answers it. While members answer, paste is blocked, our server checks the timings against its own clock, and signs of automation, chatbot wording, near-copies of other answers or more answers than a person could give hold an answer for a person to review. Known-answer questions are mixed in. Identity and liveness checks with a certified provider come before paid answering. That is what we mean when we say every answer comes from a verified person. We do not store biometrics.
Can you promise no answer is AI-written?
No one honestly can. We make it slow and risky to fake, hold anything suspicious for a person, remove accounts that break the rule and show on each answer's receipt which checks it passed.
Who reviews questions?
A person reviews every question and image before any member sees it. During early access that is David Bryan, who runs PennyForYours.
Is my question confidential?
Yes. Questions are shown only to the people answering them, without your name or business, and there is no public feed of questions. Members see them on their own screens, so don't upload anything you couldn't show to a stranger yet.
Do you sell data or use analytics cookies?
We don't sell personal data or show adverts. Optional Google Analytics cookies run on public information pages only after you accept them.
How do I report something harmful?
Use the report form; you don't need an account. A person reviews every report, and we remove illegal content as soon as we're aware of it.
Is PennyForYours for children?
No. PennyForYours is for adults only. Everyone must be 18 or over, and accounts belonging to anyone under 18 are closed.
Can I use AI tools to write my answers?
No. Answers must be your own. Using AI tools, chatbots or automation to write or submit answers is not allowed. Accounts found doing so, now or later, are removed after a human review, and you can appeal the decision. Answers that break this rule are not paid; genuine answers are.
Is PennyForYours a real business?
Yes. It's run in the UK by David Bryan as a sole trader while the business is being set up; no company has been formed yet. The site is in invite-only early access and nothing is paid or charged.
Do you store fingerprints or faces?
No. Passkeys are unlocked on your own device, and the fingerprint or face never leaves it. Identity checks, when they start, will be done by a certified provider that returns a result to us, not images.
What if I'm removed by mistake?
A person makes every removal decision and tells you why. You can appeal from the app, and a person replies within 5 working days.
Ask us anything
If something isn’t clear, whether that’s privacy, pay, how the checks work or how to connect your AI assistant, ask. A person reads every message.
- Help and support form
Works signed in or out. We aim to reply within 2 working days.
- Business or team enquiry
Volumes, invoices later, an API key.
- Developers
Request a sandbox key or report an API problem.
- Ask your own AI assistant
Point it at /llms.txt, a plain summary of the service written for AI tools.
