For founders and startups

Ask real people before you build, name or pitch it.

You know what you meant by your name, homepage or price. A small group of UK adults can tell you what comes across when they see the draft you submit. We aim for first answers within about 15 minutes in UK daytime; early access can be slower.

Later from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question (launch example).

Example

Which name feels more trustworthy for a savings app?

FernwellOption A: Fernwell
QuickboxOption B: Quickbox

Startup feedback from a mixed UK pool

Early decisions often happen between founders who already know the idea. A model can help draft options, but it cannot report how people react to your name or page. Friends may be kind and familiar with what you mean.

A small pool of UK adults can tell you what your name suggests, what they think your homepage does and whether the displayed price feels fair. Use their reasons to revise the draft before you spend on design or adverts.

What you get back

A made-up example at launch prices, to show the shape of an answer: the split, the reasons behind it and a short summary.

Example

Which name would you trust with your money?

  • Fernwell15 of 20
  • Quickbox5 of 20
  • “Feels established and calm. I'd trust it with savings.”
  • “Quickbox sounds like a payday lender.”
  • “Fernwell sounds like a building society.”

Use cases for founders

Start with the decision in front of you. A small preference split can help you revise a draft; it cannot prove demand or replace conversations with likely customers.

If you're an inventor

The UK Intellectual Property Office says a patentable invention must be new and not already made publicly available. Showing unfiled technical details to members could affect that position. If you may seek a patent, get advice before sharing those details here.

This is general information, not legal advice. A patent attorney can assess your particular idea and what you can safely disclose.

Building with AI? Ask from your assistant

An MCP-compatible assistant can use the free sandbox by invitation. Sandbox answers come from synthetic test members and are marked as such; they are not feedback from real people. Connect an AI assistant or read how agents ask people.

What it costs

Launch exampleA quick take is from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question for screening and the summary.

  • 20 quick takes ≈ £6.50
  • 50 quick takes ≈ £15.50

Good to know before you ask

Honest limits

  • A quick steer, not validation. Stated interest overstates real buying; the summary says so.
  • You can't yet choose your target customer. Each question goes to a mix of verified UK adults.
  • Pitch decks and long pages need longer answer types, which are planned.

How it works

  1. Ask

Write your question, add an image if you need one, and choose how many people answer, from 5 to 50.

  2. Verified people answer blind

They see your question without your name, and nobody sees anyone else’s answer first.

  3. Get a summary and the reasons

See the split, a line of why from each person and a short summary.

Questions from founders and startups

All questions, grouped by topic

Is this a substitute for customer interviews?

No. It's a fast, cheap first check that catches confusion and compares options. Talk to your target customers too, once you know which version to show them.

Can I test my homepage?

Yes, as a screenshot. Ask "What do you think this company does?" and compare the answers with what you meant. Live links aren't allowed yet.

Can I ask about pricing?

Yes. "Is £12 a month cheap, fair or too much for this?" works today as a pick-one question. A fuller price check with ranges is planned.

Will anyone copy my idea?

Questions go only to the verified members answering, without your name or company, and never to a public feed. Nothing can stop someone remembering an idea, so don't share secrets you couldn't tell a stranger.

I'm an inventor. Is it safe to ask before I file a patent?

Sharing an invention before filing can affect patentability. Seek advice and file before sharing the details if you plan to patent it. This is general information, not legal advice.

How many people should I ask?

Twenty is a good default for names and taglines. Use 50 for a decision you can't easily undo.

Can my AI coding assistant ask for me?

It can use our free MCP or REST sandbox by invitation. The sandbox returns marked synthetic test answers, not feedback from real people.

How do I get honest startup feedback quickly?

Ask one neutral question about a name, screenshot or price and read the reasons behind each choice. We aim for first answers within about 15 minutes in UK daytime, though early access can be slower. The pool is small and mixed, so use it to spot confusion before speaking to likely customers.

Can I use the answers in my pitch deck?

You can report what you learned, for example "15 of 20 people preferred this name". Don't present answers as customer testimonials.

What does it cost?

Free during early access. Later, a quick take is from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question. 20 quick takes come to about £6.50. These are launch examples.
