Get paid for your thoughts, in spare moments.

Give your honest first reaction to things businesses and makers are working on. Answer short questions when you have a spare moment. When paid questions open, you're paid per answer. Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch.

Joining is by invitation. Questions come from us and invited testers while we test the service, and nothing you do now earns pay, points or prizes. When paid questions open, founding members hear first.

How answering works

  1. Apply, then join with your invite

    Apply on a short form and a person reviews it. When we email your invite code, joining takes about a minute. There’s no password: your phone or computer creates a key and you sign in with the device check you already use. We never see your fingerprint or face.

  2. See a question and its pay

    Each question shows the answer type, roughly how long it takes and, once paid questions open, what it pays. Skip anything you don’t want to answer; skipping never counts against you.

  3. Answer blind, in your own words

    You don’t see who asked or how anyone else answered. Pick or rate, then write one line of why.

  4. See the reveal and build your Standing

    After you answer, you see the counts. Your Standing records useful answers, but it does not change what you are offered or paid during early access. Longer formats are planned.

Paid per answer

Questions arrive when people ask, so it's for spare moments, not a guaranteed income.

Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch. The figures below are launch examples; expert views and longer formats are planned for later.

These are launch examples. Early access is free on both sides.

You set your own minimum and see the pay before choosing a question. Early-access answers are unpaid and do not earn later pay.

How pay will work when paid questions open

  • You set your own minimum. For each kind of answer, and every question shows what it pays before you start.
  • Earnings build up in pounds. Each accepted answer adds its pay to your balance.
  • Cash-out details come before launch. We will confirm how and when you can send earnings to your bank before any paid question opens.
  • One check before your first payout. We confirm your identity and your right to work in the UK with a certified provider, as the law requires for paid work.
  • Paid launch only: a genuine accepted answer will be paid even if your account later closes. During early access, answering is unpaid.
  • Tax. Pay from answering may be taxable. The UK trading allowance has conditions and applies across relevant income. Read our trading allowance guide and check HMRC for your circumstances.

What we record while you answer, and why

To check that answers come from people, the answer page records a short summary of how each answer was made:

  • how long the question was on screen and how long before you started typing;
  • how many times you typed or deleted, and your typing rhythm as six grouped counts;
  • whether you tried to paste (it’s blocked);
  • how often the window lost focus or you switched tabs;
  • signs that automation software is driving the browser.

We never record which keys you pressed, where your pointer or finger goes, your screen, camera, microphone or location. Askers see your answer under a pseudonym that changes for every asker, never your name or email. Privacy in plain English · The full list in our privacy notice

Your answers, your own words

Answers must be your own. Using AI tools, chatbots or automation to write or submit answers is not allowed. Accounts found doing so, now or later, are removed after a human review, and you can appeal. Software can hold an answer for checking, but only a person can reject one or remove an account, and a person replies to appeals within 5 working days.

Questions about answering

All questions, grouped by topic

Is it free to join?

Yes. Joining as a member is free, during early access and after it.

Are early-access answers paid?

No. During early access, answering is unpaid and entirely optional, and nothing you do earns points, prizes or anything else with a cash value. Questions come from us and from invited testers, not from businesses buying answers. Answering now does not earn pay later, and there is no promise of paid work.

When does paid answering start, and what will it pay?

We have not set a date yet. Founding members will hear first. The paid-launch example is about 20p for a 30-second quick take. Longer answers and expert questions are planned for later, with no date set. How many questions you get depends on demand, and early on there may be few.

Who can join?

Adults in the UK, 18 or over. During early access you need a personal invitation. We may ask you to prove your age, and accounts that belong to someone under 18 are closed.

What is a passkey, and why no password?

A passkey is a key your phone or computer creates for PennyForYours only. You unlock it with your fingerprint, face or screen lock, and the fingerprint or face never leaves your device. It is resistant to phishing because it works only with this site's sign-in, and there is no password to leak.

Do I have to answer every question?

No. You can skip any question, and skipping never counts against you.

Can I use AI tools to write my answers?

No. Answers must be your own. Using AI tools, chatbots or automation to write or submit answers is not allowed. Accounts found doing so, now or later, are removed after a human review, and you can appeal. Answers that break this rule are not paid; genuine answers are.

What if my answer is held or flagged by mistake?

Software can hold an answer for checking, but it never rejects one or removes an account on its own. A person looks at the evidence and tells you the outcome. You can explain your side and appeal from the app; a person replies within 5 working days.

What is Standing?

Your reputation for accurate, useful answers. It comes from known-answer checks, the ratings askers give your answers and how often your pick matched the asker's final choice. Agreeing with the majority never counts. During early access it doesn't change what you're offered or paid.

How do payouts work?

Nothing is paid during early access. When paid questions open, you see the pay for each question before you answer it, and earnings build up in your balance in pounds. How and when you can cash out will be confirmed before paid questions open. Before your first payout we check your identity and your right to work in the UK.

Do I pay tax on what I earn?

Income from paid answers may need to be declared. The £1,000 trading allowance is based on gross income from eligible trading activities across the tax year, and exceptions apply. Keep a record of what you receive and check HMRC's guidance for your circumstances.

Will askers know who I am?

No. Askers see your answer under a pseudonym that is different for every asker, never your name or email. The summary may quote up to three answers word for word, without names.

Can you really get paid for your opinion in the UK?

PennyForYours does not pay for answers during early access. At paid launch, a quick take is planned to pay about 20p (launch example). Paid answers start at launch. Question supply will depend on askers, so no weekly amount is promised.

How is this different from paid surveys?

A quick take asks one question and a short reason, rather than a longer questionnaire. Once you start an available question here, there is no later eligibility screen. There may be fewer questions to choose from than on a large survey panel.
