For everyday people

Get paid for your first reactions, in spare moments.

Businesses, makers and AI tools want to know how things look to someone seeing them for the first time. That's you. Answer short questions when you have a spare moment, in your own words.

  • About 20p for a 30-second quick take. More for longer answers and expert questions.
  • Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch.
  • You set your own minimum, see the pay before you answer and can skip any question.
  • For spare moments, not a guaranteed income: questions arrive when people ask.

What answering is like

You see a question, often with a picture: two book covers, a shop sign, an email, a name. You pick or rate, and add one line of why. That’s a quick take, and it takes about 30 seconds.

You don’t see who asked or how anyone else answered until you’ve given your view. Then you see the reveal: how many people agreed with you.

What you do, and what you earn

Only when someone asks, so it fits spare moments.

  2. Give your honest first reaction

In your own words: pick, rate or add a line of why.

  3. See the pay before you answer

Once paid questions open. You can skip any question.

  • Answer blindNo names, and no one else’s answers first.
  • Your own words, no AI toolsReal opinions only: no chatbots or automation.
  • Skip any questionSkipping does not count against you.

Early access is unpaid

Joining is free and by invitation. Nothing you do during early access earns pay, points or prizes, and there's no promise of paid work. Founding members hear first when paid questions open.

When paid questions open you're paid per answer: you set your own minimum and see the pay before you start. Pay never sits below a floor worked out from the UK National Living Wage and the average time each kind of answer takes. It's for spare moments, not a guaranteed income: questions arrive when people ask.

Why we ask for your own words

Askers come here because they want a person's view, not a chatbot's. Answers must be your own; using AI tools, chatbots or automation isn't allowed. Accounts found doing so, now or later, are removed after a human review, and you can appeal.

Software can hold an answer for checking, but only a person can reject it.

Your privacy

  • Askers never see your name or email. They see you under a different pseudonym each.
  • While you answer we record timings, how many keys you pressed (not which ones), paste attempts, tab switches and signs of automation, to check answers come from people. Never where your pointer goes, your screen, camera, microphone or location.
  • We don't sell your data or show adverts. Privacy in plain English

Who can join

Adults in the UK, 18 or over, with a phone or computer that supports passkeys. During early access you need a personal invitation. How we check people

Questions about answering

All questions, grouped by topic

Do I need any skills?

No. You need to be able to read a short question, look at a picture and say honestly what you think. First reactions are the whole point.

How much time does it take?

As much or as little as you like. A quick take takes about 30 seconds. You can skip any question, and skipping never counts against you.

Is it paid now?

No. During early access answering is unpaid and optional. When paid questions open you'll be paid per answer, about 20p for a quick take, and founding members hear first.

Can I choose which questions I answer?

You can always skip. A question board where you choose by pay and subject is being built.

What do you check about me?

During early access, an invitation and a passkey on your own device. Before your first payout, a check of your identity and right to work in the UK with a certified provider. We never store your fingerprint or face.

What if I get something wrong?

There's no wrong opinion. Some questions are checks with a known answer, mixed in to measure attention, and your Standing reflects how you do on those and how useful askers find your answers.

Do I pay tax on it?

Pay from answering is taxable income. Most people have a £1,000 tax-free trading allowance each tax year across all side income. Check GOV.UK's guidance on income from online platforms.
