For app and game makers
Find out what people think your app does, in five seconds.
Show verified people in the UK your icon, store screenshots, onboarding screens or game art and hear what they'd tap, what they expect and where they'd give up.
Later from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question (launch example).

Why makers ask before they ship
A store listing gets a glance. If the icon and the first screenshot don’t say what the app does, most people scroll on, and store experiments need traffic you may not have yet.
Asking real people first catches the “I thought it was a calculator” moment while it’s still cheap to fix, and the lines of why tell you what to change.

What you get back
A made-up example at launch prices, to show the shape of an answer: the split, the reasons behind it and a short summary.
Five seconds on this icon: what do you think the app does?
- “It looks like a date picker.”
- “A tick in a box, so a to-do list?”
- “The colours feel like a running app.”
Phone tests: where people, not robots, help
Automated tools are good at telling you whether a screen breaks on a device. They can't tell you whether a person trusts the sign-up, understands the next step or gives up.
Phone tests with real people (install a store or TestFlight build, try a task, tell us where you hesitated) are planned as an in-depth answer type, from £3.83 a person at launch prices. They'll only use official store and beta links, never sideloaded apps, and members will be able to crop screenshots before sending.
What it costs
Launch exampleA quick take is from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question for screening and the summary.
- 20 quick takes ≈ £6.50
Free during early access. In-depth phone tests are planned at from £3.83 a person (launch example, later). Every answer type and its price
Good to know before you ask
Honest limits
- No links yet: upload screenshots. Live links and beta installs come with phone tests.
- You can't yet choose people by phone type, age or the games they play.
- This is a steer, not functional QA or a statistically representative survey.
How it works
Ask
Write your question, add an image if you need one, and choose how many people answer, from 5 to 50.
Verified people answer blind
They see your question without your name, and nobody sees anyone else’s answer first.
Get a summary and the reasons
See the split, a line of why from each person and a short summary.

Questions from app and game makers
Can people test my app on their own phone?
Not yet. Phone tests through official store and beta links are planned as an in-depth answer type. Today you can test icons, screenshots and screens as images.
Can I test an unreleased game without leaking it?
Questions go only to the members answering, without your studio name, and never to a public feed. They see it on their own screens, so treat anything you upload as seen by up to 50 strangers.
Can I choose gamers, or iPhone users?
Not yet. Each question goes to a mix of verified UK adults. Targeting is planned.
How is this different from the Developers page?
This page is about getting reactions to your product. The Developers page is about calling PennyForYours from your own code, for example to have people check AI-generated content inside your app.
Can I test a short gameplay clip?
Not yet. Use a still frame or a storyboard for now. Video is planned.
How many people should I ask?
Twenty for an icon or screenshot choice. Use 50 when a store change is expensive to undo.
Is this a replacement for store experiments?
No. Use it to pick which versions are worth a live store test, and to hear why the others lose.
What does it cost?
Free during early access. Later, a quick take is from 30p an answer, plus 50p a question. 20 quick takes come to about £6.50. These are launch examples.
Ask us before you ask them
Planning a beta and want to know when phone tests will be ready? Ask us through the help and support form. A real person replies, usually within 2 working days.
