Landing page feedback before you spend on ads

Before sending paid traffic, get landing page feedback from a small UK pool. Show a screenshot and ask what they expect to happen next. This landing page testing is a first-impression review, with first answers aimed for about 15 minutes in UK daytime. Replies may take longer for now.

We review requests by hand.

Questions for a landing page review

Start with the promise and the next step. If either is unclear, polish lower down the page will not fix the first screen.

  • Example: Would you sign up for TrailLedger's walking journal: yes or not yet?
  • What do you expect after pressing ‘START YOUR JOURNAL’?
  • How clear is this offer, from 1 to 5?

Use one question per ask. For two page versions, put the screenshots side by side in one image.

What landing page testing returns

Illustrative TrailLedger example: 14 of 20 choose ‘yes’ and six choose ‘not yet’. The comments behind ‘not yet’ ask for a price and a sample journal page. That is the to-do list: show what people get and when they pay, then retest. A stated sign-up choice is not a conversion rate.

How to get landing page feedback

  1. Capture the first screen of the page. A phone-sized screenshot makes small text and hidden calls to action more obvious.
  2. Choose 5 to 50 UK adults and ask one neutral question. They answer without seeing the asker's name or earlier votes.
  3. Read the split, each one-line reason and the summary. Fix the point of confusion before spending on more traffic.

How PennyForYours works

What the screenshot cannot test

The campaign team already knows the offer and where the button leads. A stranger sees only the page, sometimes for a few seconds. Their reasons can expose a missing price, a vague button or a promise that does not match the advert. Each answer has a signed receipt showing its checks; read what is checked.

Honest limit: People see a screenshot, not a clickable page. They cannot use the form, scroll through the whole journey or arrive from your actual adverts. The pool is mixed UK adults without targeting. Use this to edit a draft, then judge the live page from real user behaviour and conversion data.

What a landing page check costs

Asking is free during early access. At paid launch, quick takes start from 30p an answer plus 50p a question (launch example), so 20 would be about £6.50. You see a quote before asking.

Your questions, answered

All questions by topic

How do I get feedback on a landing page?

Show the first screen to people outside the team and ask what the offer is or what the button will do. Read the reasons from people who hesitate. TrailLedger's illustrative page needs to show a sample and a price, which is a clearer action than merely chasing a higher rating.

What should a landing page review cover?

Check whether the page says what is offered, to whom, at what cost and what follows the main button. Pick the weakest unknown for one question. A review of the whole journey needs more than a screenshot, but one focused question can catch a major misunderstanding early.

Can people click through my page?

No. Current quick takes accept text or an uploaded image, not links or live-site tasks. Upload a screenshot of the part you want reviewed. For form completion, navigation or recorded sessions, use a service that lets people interact with the live page.

Is this landing page testing or A/B testing?

It is a pretest of stated reactions. You can show two versions side by side and ask which is clearer, but that does not measure actual conversions. A live A/B test splits real visitors between variants and measures what they do. Use the quick check to narrow drafts before a live experiment.

Can I test two landing page versions?

Yes. Put the same part of each version side by side in one image, at comparable size, and ask one neutral question. Keep the offer constant if you are trying to judge a headline or layout change. Small preference counts need the reasons behind them before you act.

How much does landing page feedback cost?

It is free to ask during early access. The paid-launch example starts from 30p an answer plus 50p a question; 20 quick takes would be about £6.50. The quote is shown before you post a paid ask. That covers the screenshot question, not a live traffic experiment or tracked conversions.
