YouGov alternatives for sharing your opinion
YouGov alternatives differ in the questions they ask and how they reward people. YouGov runs opinion research through a panel and says members receive points for surveys and other data-sharing activities [1]. PennyForYours asks UK adults short questions from makers and businesses; answers are unpaid during early access. Last checked: 7 October 2026.
We review applications by hand.

YouGov alternatives compared
Both services ask people for opinions, but the source of the question and the reward model are different.
| Point to check | YouGov | PennyForYours |
|---|---|---|
| Questions | Opinion surveys and other panel research [1], [2] | One quick preference, rating or first impression from a maker or business |
| Reward | Points vary with survey length and complexity and can later be converted to a reward [1] | No points or pay in early access; pounds per answer at paid launch |
| Choice | Survey invitations under YouGov's panel process [1] | Members choose from a question board and can skip any question |
| Location | UK and international research operations [1] | UK adults aged 18 or over |
| Published method | Panel recruitment and weighting are described in YouGov's methodology [2] | Small, untargeted pool; not a representative poll |
A nationally weighted survey and a 20-person quick take cannot be read as the same type of evidence. Nor does a points balance turn into a fixed hourly rate: the number of invitations, question length and reward choice all matter.
When YouGov or a quick opinion board fits
Choose YouGov for its survey panel
YouGov's UK panel page explains how it recruits members, sends surveys and awards points that can be converted when a balance threshold is reached [1]. It can suit someone interested in public opinion, brands and regular survey topics. Read the live account's reward choices and terms before deciding whether the point system fits your time.
Choose PennyForYours for a small creative question
You might be shown two product labels and asked which tells you what is inside the pack. The response is a choice and a sentence explaining it. Another task could ask whether a website headline makes the service clear at first glance. You choose whether to answer; there is no quota or promise that many questions will be available.
Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch. During early access, participation is optional and unpaid, with no points or prizes. Answering now does not put you first in line for future paid work. If you want to earn survey points now, YouGov’s UK panel page confirms that model [1]; PennyForYours answers remain unpaid in early access.
Official YouGov pages checked 7 October 2026: [1] UK panel and member offer; [2] research methodology. We have not quoted a points-to-pound rate or cash-out threshold because those should be checked in a current member account.
A short answer with your own reason
Apply or use an invitation, then choose a question from the board. Current quick takes ask you to select between two or three options, rate something from 1 to 5, or give a first impression of short text or an uploaded image. You add one line of why, which the asker sees beside the overall split.
The asker's name and other members' answers are hidden until after you respond. We use a passkey on your own device, confirm UK residence and age, and review anything flagged by answer checks. Identity and liveness checks come before paid answering; they are not live in the free phase. Read the checks and their limits before applying.
At paid launch, the member example is about 20p for a quick take. Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch. Pay will be visible before a member chooses a paid question, and cash-out terms will be confirmed before that phase opens. There is no launch date or promised volume of questions.

Choose questions you actually want to answer
Look at how each site handles your time. For YouGov, check the live survey invitation, points and reward choices in your account. For PennyForYours, read the answering guide, then apply to answer or use an invitation. You can take part in both if their terms allow it.
The survey-app comparison covers other questionnaire services, while the time-and-reward guide helps evaluate a site you already use. Everyday-member examples show the sort of quick question here. PennyForYours is built in the UK; read its story. If an invitation is unclear, a real person replies.

Your questions, answered
What sites are like YouGov?
Survey panels collect opinions on public issues, brands and other research topics. Quick opinion sites may instead ask about one design or message. Choose by the question and the reward terms. PennyForYours is a YouGov alternative for short creative reactions, but it is not a replacement for paid surveys during its unpaid early-access phase.
How does YouGov pay members?
YouGov says UK panel members earn points for surveys and other data-sharing activity [1]. Points vary with the length and complexity of the task and can be converted to a reward after reaching a balance. Check your own account for the current redemption choices and threshold; this page does not promise a particular value.
Is YouGov worth the time?
That depends on the surveys offered to you, their point reward and the redemption you would actually use. Keep track of time and reward across several invitations before judging. Our survey-site guide gives a simple way to compare them. PennyForYours currently offers no paid answers.
Can I use YouGov and PennyForYours?
Yes, subject to each service's account rules. They ask different sorts of questions, so one need not replace the other. Check YouGov's terms for your account, and read PennyForYours' current invitation or approval process before joining. You may skip any PennyForYours question you do not want to answer.
When will PennyForYours pay for answers?
There is no announced paid-launch date. Answering is free during early access while we build our founding community. Paid answers start at launch. Present participation is voluntary and unpaid. Founding members will hear about paid launch first, but answering now gives no entitlement to future paid work.
Do I need to record rewards for tax?
Keep records of rewards and cash you receive from any service, then check the rules for your circumstances. Our UK trading allowance guide explains the general rule and links to HMRC. It is general information, not tax advice. PennyForYours has no answering pay in early access.
